Beirut Gluten Free is dedicated to all those suffering from celiac disease, gluten intolerance, wheat allergy, you name it. [If you’re confused about the different titles, here’s a quick guide.]

Let me tell you a bit about myself: I am Charbel from Beirut, and I am a coeliac. Well, I don’t know if I have been since childhood, but I am certain about my official diagnosis – two years ago.

I had a hard time researching and locating gluten-free meals, restaurants, and even day-to-day snacks and biscuits. In a country devastated by several humanitarian and economic crises like Lebanon, one would not expect to find a variety of restaurants that cater to specific dietary needs.

The past period has been tough on me, and for that reason, I have started this blog. I aim to share with you what I have learned about the gluten-free “scene” in Beirut, and more broadly in Lebanon. I will share my favorite places, including tips for you to stay safe, healthy, pain- and worry-free.

This blog does not aim to generate money. It does, however, entail a monthly subscription cost (domain registration, hosting, CMS maintenance, email). I will do my best to keep it running, and keep its content up-to-date with minimal advertisements. And I will make sure to state it clearly when a piece of content is featured or paid for by an external entity.

Awaiting your feedback and recommendations on beirutgf@charbelnassar.com

Cheers,
Charbel
